Why on earth is this being made? Haven't we killed Kong enough in past movies? Give it a rest.

Unless this is a different Kong from the one that appears in GODZILLA VS KONG, then he's not going to die.

Remember there's likely more than one Kong this time.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Same reason we get a new Bond movie or a new Tarzan movie or Robin Hood or Godzilla or any other adaptation of a long lived and recognizable film character.

all stories possible in human history have been told....

So by now... Kong is concept. He's no different than vampires, or sharks... or Star Wars..... We go to movies to experience these concepts in new ways.
