Could be a reference to Kong's species, or it could refer to multiple species on Skull Island. Either way I'm pretty sure Kong will be taking on more than just the US military in this film.

Notice the word "adolescent". This could imply the common theory a lot of people have been having which is Kong is not fully matured.
