Will Skull Island get destroyed in the end?

A lot of the viral marketing indicates there is geothermal activity happening around the island. Could Skull Island either sink or erupt from a volcanic eruption by the end of the movie? I would certainly hope that is not the case because I would like to see Skull Island exist further down the line in this kaiju-cinemaotic universe.

Kong's farts could be contributing to all that geothermal stuff. It was even alluded to in King Kong '76. Though Prescott was referring to excess CO2 caused by hypothetical animal breathing and not methane stank from ungodly ass-gas.

Any hint on when the next preview will be released?

Hopefully, when that new Harry potter spin off arrives in theaters. On a side note, as of today their are only 138 days till Kong Skull Island arrives in theaters (I have been keeping track on the big day app, and I started at 216 days).

Good on you pal :)

I hope there's nothing like that in the film. when I go to see a Kong film i want it to be at least a bit cool and Kongs farting ........well it's not something I really like to think about.

Let alone having the cool factor.

Same here.

I don't think they'll do anything that extreme. This is still technically a prequel to GODZILLA (2014). Destroying Skull Island would either lead to Kong's extinction, or evacuation which likely would not be easily unnoticed. I said it before, I'll say it again I think the US government will quarantine the entire area, and try and hide the island from the outside world. This is set during the Cold War years, so hiding the island from the Soviet Union will probably be a big reason as to why. Kong and/or his species will remain, awaiting the eventual crossover GODZILLA VS KONG (2020).

I think it would be best to have Godzilla arrive on Skull Island first, rather than just have someone capture Kong and drop him in front of Godzilla.

I wouldn't like to see it kept secret in SI [I'd prefer there to be very little if anything known about it] but keeping the island secret is a good idea for any sequel. if it's often covered in cloud and in the future with technology maybe that could be acheived.

A lot of fans believe Skull Island will eventually stand in for Monster Island in this continuity. It makes some sense. I could totally see Legendary doing that.
