How come?

Why didn't the US military get people that were involved in the events of Kong Skull Island to help out with the MUTO and Godzilla crisis?
(On a side note, I asked this same question on the Godzilla (2014) messenger boards. The reason why I am asking this on the Kong Skull Island messenger board is I do not think it will get a response on the Godzilla messenger board)

The main reason is because that film was made before they decided to have the two franchises set in the same continuity. Apparently this film will involve Monarch, the scientific organization from GODZILLA (2014). They've been around for decades.

Any survivors of this film's story were either sworn to secrecy or they simply had no knowledge of the MUTO and Godzilla. And that's if anyone even survives this film at all. I'd hate it, but I wouldn't rule out Tom Hiddleston's character escaping the island, only to be gunned down by US government agents hoping to keep the island's location classified. Since this is technically a prequel set decades before GODZILLA (2014), you could probably expect some sort of massive government coverup involving Skull Island.

Maybe there's a character in the movie that will turn out to be a young dr. Ishiro Serizawa?

Lets wait and see how Skull Island plays out. I think there will be more connections than we realise.

I have a very long ignore list

My only guess is that the military covered up whatever happened on Skull Island same as they did the first Godzilla crisis back in the 1950s. That's usually what happens in these types of movies.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
