The estimated budget for Kong: Skull Island is listed on IMDB as being..
$190 million. Is that an accurate figure?
What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Seems legit, Wiki reports the same figure. Given the scope hinted at in the trailer, the high digits make sense. The first to report the budget were RTH, and Wiki has it from this article: http://www.scified.com/news/new-kong-skull-island-set-photos-reveal-plane-wreckage

Here's to hoping it doesn't underperform then.🍺

If it turns out only half as good as that trailer makes it out to be, it will do just fine.

Lol fair enough.

It could be and I think it's close to that figure. Maybe the exact figure will be revealed as the film gets closer. But remember the budget for Live by Night on imdb was 110m. We know how that turned out.
shareWe actually don't know how that turned out, since the movie wont be released until Christmas.
"Can I use her underwear to make soup?"
What I mean is that the 65m number that comes from Entertainment Weekly which is a reliable site makes sense than 110m, which came from nowhere.
shareThat sounds low for what's gonna be a major fx extravaganza. It'll still be in post in January/early February I bet.
I was told there would be no math :)
"Can I use her underwear to make soup?"
It won't be in post. I think it's already done and ready to go because it's going to start screening for critics from Nov 16.
shareWhere did you hear the news of early screenings?
shareKristopher Tapley who reviews films and follows awards for Variety has said recently that WB is going to roll out the movie for critics from Nov 16. You can check his Twitter feed, it must be 3,4 days ago.
shareHmm, nice to know WB is confident in this release.

If that's remotely true, I bet the screenings will be for test audiences and not critics per se.
"Can I use her underwear to make soup?"
It's for critics. He clearly mentions it because he is a critic. Plus test screenings don't usually happen a month before release.
shareAre they allowed to say anything about the film? Not necessarily details wise but quality?

It really depends on what sort of review embargo WB puts for the film. They could keep an immediate embargo or a late one. Maybe we could hear about some initial small thoughts on the film and not a full review.
share190 Million? Wow, factor in a big chuck a cheese for marketing & other overhead costs & this thing better be HUGE to make a profit on all that expenditure. I'm not sure the character can carry a story like this with the 70s setting & all - they're making a pretty big bet on brand recognition alone.
