The new footage reminds me of the Patterson Bigfootage...

...just from the way he moves and his coloring and the way he just sort of appears. I'm wondering if Kong is just sort of blending into the landscape here at first since he is so damn huge and then he lashes out at the helicopters and surprises the **** out of them...

F-ing badass!

The way of I see how Legendary is interpreting these iconic giant monsters is as if they were cryptids like if Godzilla is the Loch Ness Monster then Kong is the Bigfoot.

Plus I definitely love the idea that Kong's body just blending into the landscapes.

I agree!

Yeah man! Now that I think about it, it definitely has the Patterson-Gimlin vibe to it.

I really hope that Kong is presented as more of a missing-link Bigfoot type of ape, that would make him even scarier :)

Yes I also dig the way they shot this. Then again, I had the same with Edwards' Godzilla but that ended up being a rather lacking and lifeless film... Then again, this has got a more talented cast so that'll likely help. Doesn't hurt that the color grading is rather intense lol.

This flick is gonna blow Godzilla '14 outta the water, no pun intended. You can bet your life that the filmmakers here are going to do the exact opposite of that film. The have to. We won't see Kong again until 2020 so they have to give the people what they want and that's a phukload of action, in daylight! :)

fuuuuudddge they better

love me some Kong

Wonder what's going on with Godzilla 2 tho. If they want to make that March 2019 with a VFX heavy film they need to give themselves at least a year of post-production. Which means, they have to start principal photography in October next year, and they probably have a three month pre-production period which means the script has to be done before July.

Hm, they still got some time although, the more post-production time they can give ILM (assuming they'll animate the majority of that film) the better. Godzilla could've looked better you know.

I hope they're conceiving (lol) and interesting story and bring the spectacle big time. 8 minutes of Godzilla is simply not enough. Also, pleasepleaseplease, I hope they partially shoot it with IMAX cameras. Oh just imagine the sight of Godzilla even just the sight of him, in full IMAX. Rendered in the highest resolution they can afford. Now that would be a sight to behold.
