there is litterly no charm in bunch of flat cgi models fighting. you never that what you see is actually there. unlike japanese monster movies where the monster is a guy in a suit. at least those movies had charm. in those movies the skin is right and clear. everything is practical. in this movie its all blurry transformers style crap. the lizard monster had a terrible generic design. and the only monster that i liked was the giant spider.

now for the stupid hypocrite characters. tom huddelston and that camera woman were beyond hypocrite and stupid. they dont give a crap about soldiers missing and willing to leave them but because kong let them cuddle him for a few seconds now they instantly have the urge to protect him at any coast. LOL. suddenly kong become the hero and that lizard is the bad guy.while in reality both of them are just big wild monsters who follow their instincts. their lame excuse for defending kong against samuel l jackson charecter. ''we entered his territory'' yeah you hypocrites you entered the lizard territory as well you dumb-assess.

so the movies try to make samuel l jackson as the bad guy. because he wants to kill kong and the rest of the giant monsters in order to escape the island. and he also want to bring back his soldiers. yeah. what a evil evil vilian he is right? how dare he be the realistic one who see kong and the rest of the monsters as what they are. wild beast. since when kong is the frikin hero? even in the first film from the 30's they never tried to humanize him.

stupid stupid stupid film. that what it is

I appreciate your thoughtful insights. As a result, I think I will be giving this film a miss this weekend.

John Reilly's character explained that Kong was the protector of the natives.

Huddleston was a civilian, and they had already been exposed to great danger, so for the whole group to expose themselves to death to try to find one lost soldier made no sense.

Samuel Jackson's Proctor, was a soldier randomly killing things (the large bird) for no reason, so no, he wasn't being a responsible leader trying to get his men back, but bent on revenge, and putting everyone in danger in the process. How would killing Kong have helped them? They would have had to deal with the Skull Crawlers without their biggest ally in fighting them.
