Who's dad died, Hap or Leonard's? And who took care of the kid who lost his father?

shareI think Hap was staying at Leonard's house to fix it up as much as he can. It's poorly implied that Trudy died either in the van or in the hospital. I was hoping Trudy survived. She was my favorite character.
I'm assuming Hap's dad died while trapped under the car.
I felt the episode was horribly rushed and poorly executed in my opinion.
It's defiantly shown that Leonard's died instantly. But it's never mentioned or shown who took care of Hap after that. So many questions left unanswered, praying there is a second season!

I'm thinking he died after that. I believe the cranky old uncle raised Leonard. If Hap's dad did die, don't know who raised him.

While I appreciate your "wit", I have seen no reference on the show concerning Hap's mother. Since I have no other reference, I stand by my answer, I don't know who raised Hap IF his father was indeed killed.

I'm not sure Trudy died. When Hap went through a stack of mail there was a picture postcard from Cancun, but I didn't see who it was from. He did take his half of the money and donate it in her name to a Houston Children's Hospital.
At the end of the finale, you saw a skeleton in the basement of the uncle's house. Hap and Leonard said they would clean it out the next day after resting up. It might have been the man responsible for hitting their father's or that man's father. The hit and run guy had the surname of the politician that Hap would not allow to be posted in the yard. Hap threatened to sic the dogs on the campaign volunteer.
I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
Trudy did die. Leonard asked what happened to her and Hap's silence answered that question. Leonard said to Hap (I'm paraphrasing), "I'm sorry. I truly am."
