Sundance TV is dead to me.......

Strike 1 was adding commercials a while back.
Strike 2 & 3 was starting to censor their movies.
I haven't seen any program on Sundance since then, and I post on here to tell anyone who disagrees with Sundance to do the same. If you don't care then more power to you. Most people wouldn't prefer censored movies WITH commercials, especially since cable/satellite prices are so high as it is. I hate when people say "free TV" when referring to cable. That's all. Rant over.
Good Day

While I prefer no commercials - I've gotten pretty good at skipping FF through them - I find censored movies almost not worth watching.

I'd often prefer to watch NO MOVIE AT ALL rather than one that has swear words dubbed over and pieces cut out.

This REALLY bugs me.

It's like eating French Fries with no salt and no ketchup - and no Pepsi to go along with them.

reply

Agree, but IFC is still censor free, but too many breaks.

reply

Ya IFC has way more commercials than regular channels. Or at least it feels like it

reply

I dont like that Sundance censors its movies now, but i'm okay with the commercial breaks since I get bored as f^k watching something all the way through with no breaks in between 

Channel Six News, they'll finger anything with a pulse!

reply

what censorship has been in this show? they dropped the "n-bomb" and i dont mean nagasaki, i always though that was more offensive then the f-bomb,
rectify doesnt feel censored, and rectify is awesome

reply

He was talking about the movies on Sundance, not the tv shows.

reply

What censorship has been in this show? Have you noticed that there has not been a single f-bomb dropped, no nudity, and the sex scenes are no more graphic than anything you see on basic cable? Wonder why that is?

I think I read somewhere that H&L will be aired on AMC at some point, as Sundance and AMC are both part of AMC Networks. That's why Sundance aired Breaking Bad reruns and IIRC, at least one season of Rectify was aired on AMC to boost viewership. So over-the-top violence apparently is fine for AMC, but no bad words, naked boobies, or bumping uglies.

reply

Plenty of people don't swear very often. In writing it can be used with restraint so when someone does swear it's more meaningful.

Every show doesn't have to be exactly like Sopranos.

reply

The part that I hate about Sundance is the 'coming up' nonsense. It is a commercial for a show that we are already watching. Actually it is more like a spoiler, which can add nothing to a show we are in the middle of, but can and does offer key future details. I try to fast forward through everything, but then they have a false start, so you start to check it out only to forward again. Makes it intentionally annoying from them. I try to only watch movies on premium channels, because they should never be censored or cut.

reply

I record things and then play them back. That way I can pause a dhow to get o=something to drink or answer the door whatever.

I also fast-forward through most commercials. I noticed on the free version of Hulu that sometimes you are given a preference of two commercials to watch. Sometimes they have asked if a commercial was relevant to you. If you click no the you don't see it again.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
