I haven't read the books so i don't know how accurate season 1 is to the source, but what will season 2 be based on?

Season One was based on the novel Savage Season. Season 2 will be based on the novel Mucho Mojo. Read the books if you get a chance, they are very good.
shareI've read all the books and I can say that the show was incredibly accurate on season 1. It also added a bit of "extra" here and there which was really fit.
Books 1 and 2 are not even the best, for example I didn't liked Savage Season very much, but, oh my god, it will be so great if this show survives until season 3 and 4 because the respective books, Two-Bear Mambo and Bad Chili are simply crazy.
Anyway, to answer to your question about what season 2 will be based on:
A BIT OF SPOILERS AHEAD
Season Two will be pretty "dark" (because of the theme) and it will revolve around a sort of "private investigation" Hap & Leo choose to do, regarding a dark secret found in Leo's uncle home...
