People comparing this to Kids...

Are you joking... this is more like Harmony Korines "Spring Breakers" only painstakingly dull with zero character development and a completely unwarranted run time. Kids was a visceral and raw look at the lives of disenfranchised youth, a true masterpiece as was Ken Park... this isn't engaging in the least.

Are YOU joking? "Kids" was a steaming crock of alarmist bullsh*t that had no heart whatsoever and substituted wigger stereotypes for recognizable human beings. It was mostly an excuse to scare parents and allow director Larry Clark to indulge his hobby of filming half naked adolescents of both sexes. This is MUCH better and has nothing to do with "Kids". Even if you like "Kids" (I actually kinda liked "Bully"), that is a very spurious comparison.

The "Spring Breakers" comparison is even worse. "Spring Breakers" is highly stylized and SATIRICAL. It's about pampered middle-class white girls who decide to become gun-toting gangbangers. It is NOT realistic and is not supposed to be. This is a REALISTIC story about a bunch poor white kids trying to earn a living--they're not going around busting caps in people. I do like "Spring Breakers", but it's simply a very different movie.

Did you actually WATCH this movie?

This is just simply a mind numbingly boring, dull and lifeless film, much like the characters that inhabit it. Barely enough material to warrant an 80 minute running time let alone near 3 hours. It sounds to me as you've read the same damn
articles on Larry Clarke that everyone's read. Did you form an opinion yourself?
The whole "he just likes to look at naked kids" argument is just a total cop out. Simply put, people don't like to know that their kids could be doing those sorts of things and so they bury head in the sand and write him off as some sort of weird perverted old man... I don't buy into that *beep* Yes I watched this movie and it had some potential but in the end just another overly long mess.
