Who the hell asks for help on chatroulette? It's like asking for help on 4chan. That part was ridiculous.

She was desperate, and had no idea what to do. Keep in mind these are today's teenagers, who are so heavily reliant on technology. Her phone was useless, her dad wasn't home. The next best thing to do was run and go to a neighbors house (remember being taught that in school if your are gen x or older), but she was freaking out, and trying to save Jess. You can talk all you want when you find yourself in a panic, and truly life threatening situation as a 15-17 year old in today's world.
BTW, she succeeded in getting the help. A car was five minutes out. But the time from when Jess was disconnected to dead was less than two minutes. Laura actually let the call be made.

Why was her phone useless? She'd just used it earlier.
shareBoth Adam and Ken tried making calls to dispatch and they were intercepted by Laura. The last time Blaire tried using her phone, it was allowed to show that Val's screen was not frozen since her barking dog was not enough.
So yeah, her phone was totally useless. But in all fairness, they were totally helpless. How do you stop a vengeful spirit who can force you to commit suicide? They were short a powerful priest since none of them could confess until forced to.

Weren't any of her other Facebook friends besides Laura online? Surely she could've messaged one of them and they would be more likely to understand and help. Unless I missed a reason why she couldn't. It seems like people on Chatroulette would either be naked men, trolls, or people who would just assume it was a prank.
shareThey have like, 24 friends on facebook. That's NOT believable. Even I have like 300 (nor all friends butb all real life people I know) and I'm +30. They should have had like 1500 friends on Facebook!
