Unfriended is A True Horror Experience

I'll start by saying this movie isn't that great, the acting is pretty puke and Blair is annoying as hell. At the same time, I felt like I was actually there on the skype call with the characters just watching this go down. All the stuff happening on the screen of the computer was interesting and kept me glued to what was happening even when the acting couldn't. If I had seen this in a theater, I'm sure I would have been very disappointed because I wouldn't have been able to see the majority of what was going on in the smaller chat bubbles and the researching online scenes. Watching this on an actual computer screen in full screen works great for this film and being able to rewind or pause for certain stuff to check out all of what is going on at all corners like the pop up reminders and what not. I felt immersed in this situation with these characters as if I was there with them silently in the skype call and not many movies (recent horror anyway) can actually make you feel like you're there. This film succeeded in that regard to the highest degree. It wasn't scary, it was goofy at times along with annoying but it also gave a completely original horror experience that wouldn't have been achieved in typical film making fashion.
