Rewatching in 2024

This board is totally dead; I guess there aren't many fans of this show.

In any case, I read that a new season has gone into preproduction, so I decided to do a rewatch. I'm currently on S2EP03.

It was OK when it first aired, and for the most part, it still holds up as OK now. I always thought the three original movies with Noah Wyle were better. This show, despite being in the same continuity, has a slightly different tone, focusing more on magic and the supernatural than the films did. Also, the episodes in which Wyle appears were the standouts of Season 1. Rebecca Romijn is great, though.

I'm curious as to what the new season will be like. I suspect the tone will be different; something about this 2014 run seems dated in a way I can't quite put my finger on yet.
