moronic last scene

im not gonna spoil it out but boy did the last scene ruin that movie!

Totally agree. She was just a timid little snowflake of a woman. No way would she confront the wacked-out and physically larger Emily.

Uhmm you do realize that she was the most damaged person in the whole movie? Why else they would mention that she has lost her unborn baby? Emily was sadistic and on pills, while Charlotte was ripped off her emotions and straight thinking. Quiet and remains the shadow without any sparks to live, makes her far more dangerous than the spoiled brat. Think damit, thats what the movie requires.

reply

I just watched this movie on dvd, and I totally agree with you about Charlotte's character. I believe that her husband's response after learning this was "a tough act to follow", so I have to wonder if he will just cautiously dismiss it or seek some very serious counseling for her.

Movie had many terrible scenes...the whole church fight was a lazy depalma camera angle ripoff....movie was trying to be too smart for itself ripping off other better movies...ending was straight also a straight rip of Presumed Innocent

reply

Also not believeable how the police would have just allowed Josh to go from Most Wanted to going free at the end.

Bang on the money. Exactly what i thought too while watching it, except i didn't stutter :)

As for Presumed Innocent, it goes without saying that it's the better movie by far.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs

yes, Pacino has been the same character in many films!! It gets annoying to see him phoning it in.
Hopkins as well.

as for the end, oh yeah I was thinking of Presumed Innocent. But in that movie you knew that the wife was hurt by the affair and we knew he actually had an intense relationship with the "mistress".

But the wife was so supportive during his trial that the discovery at the end was a shocker.

In Misconduct there was never any cut and dried admitting of an affair. I was never sure and she wasn't either that he actually had slept with Emily.
So for her to kill her or even go over there is stupid.

eVery character in this movie was horrible.

reply

The very last scene is ok, had some kind of an 80's feel. To me the worst scene is right before the last scene, pacino and the guy in the coffee. Nothing there was done right.

reply

And I thought that was the most interesting scene from the whole movie.

reply

Nah, for me the one that blew it apart was when he comes home to find dead chick in his bed, knowing she's already been so for some time, decides touching her and even moving her is a good idea, then when cops come knocking he thinks running away will help.. Um, what's he done wrong..? Any lawyer would know the coroner will prove she's been gone and moved.. Any forensic evidence would easily prove he's at least innocent of killing her there, is likely being setup and with his big giant firm behind him it should be an easy off.. It was just a really bad scene..

Won't even ask about where the Asian dudes motivation came from..

Why he wouldn't question why super powerful lawyer and firm is going to trust a hundreds of millions of dollars case to him for a first try..

Just all felt very lazy and formulaic.. Like Revenant..

I gave it a six..

And Pacino actually wasn't that bad until the last scene, which I've strangely seen played out exactly the same before.. Hmmn..
Hope they don't have a plagiarism lawsuit on their hands..

You're right about the moved body. Not to be gross, but she had been dead for several days already and decomposition would have been well underway. Any coroner worth their salt would know that and it would be crazy to think that dead body would just be there in his damn bed, like, ask the wife if she noticed the dead body in her bed over the past few days? This movie was ridiculous. I'm still trying to piece together what exactly I just watched. Why did Pacino use that Asian guy to frame Duhamel for the woman's murder? What was the point? Pacino and Hopkins were in cahoots, and Hopkins paid him off for $400M to get the evidence back. So why bother setting Duhamel up for murder? And then why was Asian guy going to kill him and his wife and bury their bodies in a church? And at the end of it all, the only murders were committed by his wife and him??? I also just didn't understand Pacino's motives at all. He got the payoff, now be quiet and move on. This was terribly written and the wife's confession seemed identical to the scene in Presumed Innocent. What a waste of time.

i had actually thought she got the perfume smell in her clothes from having a lesbian encounter with Emily. how wrong i was.

yeah last scene was totally silly. but at least Alice Eve looked great finally able to wear makeup in the movie.
