I love Jude Law but hate this show

am so disappointed
how much can you take of his arrogance and rudeness and too much slow motion
I know some people love that but not me I just suffered through the 4th episode
no more

If you like Jude Law then why not hang in there? Consider why he might have chosen this role, seems to be putting his 'all' into it and and even considering doing a 2nd season.

I agree, I thought there would be some form of entertainment that would shine they eventually, but it only shows people at their most arrogant and stupid...it makes the Catholic church look like some kind of joke run by a bunch of power hungry people out to do more harm than good, and the pathetic, clueless people who follow them and treat them like gods just makes me feel sick all over... That people could blindly follow lies and treachery just because someone said they should.

That Catholics are clueless and blindly follow is a common misunderstanding (clichรฉ?) and out-dated depiction of Catholics today. As an example, you'd be surprised how many adults seek out the church having had no exposure to it during their childhood days.

"Islam has more followers than the Catholic Church", says an exasperated Lenny at one point.

And this is true. Especially in North America. But I think less so in Europe. I may be wrong.

On Sundays, St. Peter's square is filled with Italians and many tourists from all over. Believe me it is jammed. They come to pray the Angelus together with the Pope. Young and old who are not tourists in their religion.

On the other side of the city not too far from the Vatican stands the ruins of the Roman Coliseum a place where Christians were persecuted, tortured and put to death as entertainment of the day.

In terms of entertainment value, I gave The Young Pope series a chance. I'm still watching.

I felt the same way--couldn't STAND Lenny for a long time, but I love โค๏ธ Jude and would literally sit and watch him stare at a wall for two hours, so I stuck it out and watched the whole series. Really glad I did--so much that I want--no--HAVE--to watch it all over, partly for the absurd yet subtle humor, and partly to understand some of it that I wasn't clear on the first time around.

As much of an arrogant jerk as he seems, he does have some very good, pure and redeeming qualities and deeds that he performs.

There are things about him by the end of the season that almost make up for his brash attitude, and he does slowly evolve a bit through things he experiences along the way. The ending leaves you hanging...

Give it another shot--there's another season in the works. ๐Ÿ˜‡

I'm starting the 3rd episode tonight. So far I like it, but it is slow moving. I can deal with it because I absolutely love Jude Law!
