The music over the Hit of Timothy Hutton's character....Pink Floyd
At the end of the pilot when Tim Hutton's mob boss gets whacked, there's music that sounded really familiar to me. I guess you could say it "hit" me when I realized it was a rip-off (or a homage, you pick which word works for you) of the Pink Floyd song "One Of These Days" from their album Meddle.
They probably had used it as a temporary track while editing, and someone liked it so much they told the composer to write something resembling it...really resembling it, that is, with maybe a few notes changed here and there.
"Sie sagan diese katze Shaft ist ein schlect Mutterficker!"
