I wanted to like it.

Great actors, good topic. Absolutely terrible writing and delivery of lines. Actors rush to speak lines in near monotone. Very stilted. Couldn't finish watching. Embarrassing to see gifted actors just parroting lines.terrible direction

Agreed. It's pretty clear they're going for an Aaron Sorkin type of dialogue, but it fails miserably. It's just not well written or directed.

I am struggling thru it right now. I also had high hopes for something new and fresh, but I find myself re-watching some scenes. I don't like how a few characters have such flippant dialogue, but I will try to hang in there.

A lot of this I can understand if you aren't a fan of Ed's other movies. However I love his films and the show to me is really great. I have family from Boston and friends from New York and it is hard at times keeping up with how fast they talk. With Ed's movies and now show you have to pay attention to the dialogue and how he writes relationships. Those things he's always been great at. For those of us that have been fans of his for years it's such a treat to see him tell a story in a long format.
