Jimmy Shea

So, I don't know what to make of this kid yet. I want to believe he's not crooked (because in the pilot, "A Fine Line", he just comes off to me as like a little hoity toity by-the-book, do the right thing type... and of course he is!) but at the same time, after watching his antics in Family is Family, I'm starting to wonder what side he's playing... or if he intends to play both now that he's got a taste of this new world he's stepped into. When he said he was married and then went and hooked up with blondie at the club, I was just like, "Lol but seriously?" Something else that's been swirling around in the back of my mind is that he might be a fed. Something's just off about him. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts. I'm curious to know if I'm the only one who thinks this.

I totally agree with you. I keep thinking he's really a FBI agent and is going to eventually bust the dirty cops, which really did happen in the late 60s and early 70s.

buffyfan145, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! He just gives me weird vibes... like, I just don't know what to make of him yet. I do think he's going to wind up being my favorite character on the show though. I just can't believe he's supposed to be a good guy, married and all and bang! right to a backroom with some chick. Tsk tsk. I've always watched the first four episodes online so now I'm like a sitting duck waiting for episode 5... is it the end of September yet?

My husband & I agree, right off the bat, he gives us the feel of IA getting in there to investigate these guys. We have only watched the first 2 eps, tho, have not caught up with the on demand 3 & 4. But Shea from the start has something secret bubbling, yeah. I like that actor too, and the others on this show. We will keep watching. I believe they have some compelling tales to tell from 60s NYC law enforcement & the city's dirty underbelly. Many of us out here like that era & its tales, I am guessing the creators of the show realized that :-)

After watching the full season online, I'm sad to say that I might've been wrong in my assumptions. I don't know if he's a fed or IA after all. I mean, there's a chance he could be but after watching the final few episodes, I'm on the fence. I'm like, "Well... maaaybe I'm not quite right in my predictions." Maybe season 2 will shed some light on his background and focus more on him than this season.

His character reminds me of Guy Pearce as Ed Exley in LA Confidential. Another corrupt police department with no one trusting Exley, the son of a well known policeman. .

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
