hahahahaha Ok, yea, I know he's not really black, But he sure is way more dark skinned than the other 3! He looks way too ethnic to be related to them. Like he's mulatto or half Hispanic or something. His completely contrasting skin tone and just his overall looks stick out like a sore thumb. The other three could pass for being part of a fraternal quadruplet, but whenever they show Nicky, I think he looks like a human version of "Sanjay" from "Sanjay & Craig."
This reminds me of the TV show "7th Heaven" where ALL the kids were extremely fare skinned. Almost PASTY white...and then there was the actress who played Ruthie who was CLEARLY of mixed race and it had everyone scratching their heads when that show was first one.
I know siblings can look totally different, and I've only seen one episode while my sisters kids were watching it, but we all just kept laughing at "That one kid that doesn't belong" or making jokes like "That kids hispanic mom owed the casting director a favor."
(Oh, and for the first 5-10 minutes of the show we thought "Dicky" was the one girl until Dawn appeared in the scene!)
Kids of differing complexions are not that unusual. In my family, there are six kids, with Italian, English, Scottish and Dutch heritage. The Italian is both northern (fair-skinned) and southern (dark-skinned). We have two blondes with blue eyes, two redheads, one with blue eyes and one with brown, a brunette with blue eyes, and a very dark brunette with olive skin. Genetics are a tricky thing; you can't always predict what will happen.
Having said all that, I have to say the dark-haired kid stands out to me, too.
I actually don't think he stands out that much. Maybe just a little, but that's it. He looks like he could be Italian or Spanish. He's like a 10 year old Antonio Banderas lol

I actually came to the message boards to see if anyone commented on Dicky looking like a girl. When I first started the episode, I thought Ricky and Dicky were two boys, (who are actually Ricky and Nicky) and I thought Nicky and Dawn were the two girls (who are actually Dicky and Dawn.)

What's so remarkable about a boy looking like a girl? A significant proportion of the human race looks like girls, and a fraction of those who look like girls are boys.
And what's so remarkable about a girl looking like a boy? That happens a lot too.
In fact, when there are brothers and sisters in a family, people usually say they resemble each other, meaning the boys look like their sisters and the girls look like their brothers. Thus most girls look like (specific) boys and most boys look like (specific girls).
The board about actress Hilary duff has a thread "Hilary Duff looked like a boy" which you might find interesting.
I have read that decades ago Hollywood child actors used to let their hair grow long between roles so that it could be cut to the desired length for their next roles. Possibly modern child actors do the same. The boys who portray Nicky and Ricky may have worn their hair longer before being cast.
PS long ago when my nephew was six I took him trick or treating and at one house someone told me what a cute little girl I had!

Members of the same family usually have a family resemblance, so when two members of a family look a lot different many people consider it a lot stranger than it actually is.
For an example of family members who look like members of different races seen number nine on this list:
