Token White guy?

Just wondering if there is a token white guy in this and if so is he evil?

As we grow we learn, i have learned that if you don't like me grow up or ignore me.

reply

There were three white guys, and yes they were the "bad guys". But I wouldn't say they were any more evil than Jesus and his pals.

reply

lol.
Yeah, they were called Chandler, Ross and ... Michael. :D

They were 3 friends that tried to rob Jesus of his weed money.

reply

That was my favorite joke. Chandler, Ross, and.....Michael.
Fantastic.

Why is it ok for blacks to always show whites as either stupid or bad but if we shows blacks doing it we are evil white racists?

Watch the show before you judge it.

How would you know its a racist mess when you haven't even seen the show? You know what they say about assuming things don't you?

Furthermore the white kids who rob Jesus are masked and we don't know they are white until they get caught. The gag is that while they are masked they have deep voices and the audience presumes them to be black because of how they are speaking, once unmasked we see that they are teenage white kids, named Ross, Chandler and Micheal. Nothing in that scene screams racist toward white people, but i'm sure you'll find a way to be offended.

It's racist because whites are not allowed to have an all white cast anymore there has to be a black guy otherwise there is hell. But there is no issues about there being all black cast and even an all black station.
Also when ever there is a white guy he is either stupid, a wigger or a bad guy.

Girl meets World and Boy Meets world doesn't have a single black character and I dont call it racist.

Black Jesus takes place in stereotypical Compton, CA where most of the population is African American and Hispanic American. It would seem rather out of place for a white character to be in this group. Also, if there was a white character in the group the audience would be constantly reminded of it.

No Number is best. 3 builds better than 2. 2 loves better than 1 and 1 mind is better than 3.

Yeah they do, Shawn dated a girl named Angela and she was a regular cast member. And Jackee from 227 and Sister Sister has been a recurring character on Girl meets World.

Lamest, and most persistant argument starter about racism on IMDb and the internet in general. No one says anything about Friends, Cheers, Seinfeld, Dawson's Creek, Beverly Hills 90210,Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory...etc for omitting people of color from those shows and they had lengthly runs without having regular minority characters and remained somewhat popular...in other words:SHUT THE F#CK UP ABOUT RACISM THATS NON-EXSISTANT.

what is this thread??

black jesus doesn't even have an all black cast. i've seen more white actors in ten episodes than i did black actors in ten seasons of friends.

before we get started, does anyone want to get out?

Well said. The point of them being white was to facilitate a joke, not as a means to vilify their entire race.

The OP just wants to rage about racism in TV shows, so looks for it anywhere they can find it, even when (as in this case) it isn't present.
They haven't even seen the show, yet made a number of assumptions about it and used these assumptions as the basis for outrage, it's actually fairly comical if you think about it...

@ A_New_Hope
you are a hilarious racist race baiter looking for a troll fight. Stew in it beeAtch.

Who took my toast?

reply

Because you look like a huge moron when you make incorrect assumptions.

reply

C'mon man. The show isn't PC, but it's comedy. Just let it go. I don't want my comedy censored in order to have a mixed cast every time.

Not defending the show, but I see you have a Breaking Bad avatar. That show portrays its white characters as despicable murdering money grubbing power hungry drug dealers and/or evil white supremacists. Because the creator of the show was white does that make the negative portrayal of those characters okay?

But to answer your question, if there were way more portrayals of blacks doing something positive instead of being evil drug dealers/murders/rapists/idiots then there wouldn't be a problem. The Wire has tons of black characters doing bad things, but it's a well written show that also had tons of black characters doing good things too. It's about balance.

If minority writers and filmmakers agreed never to show white characters being stupid or doing evil in exchange for having 90% of leading tv characters being portrayed by minority actors, do you think that would be a fair trade? Or would you rather things stay the way they are?

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.

They had a white policeman who arrested Black Jesus. Considering that you think Black Jesus is racist, you'd probably consider him a "hero." But I don't get all the complaining about them not having many whites in the show. The setting is Compton. Not many white people live or travel there. Besides there have been plenty of white shows with no black people in the cast. Friends was one. Seinfield was another; they even managed to have no black people on the show even though it's based in New York City.

reply

They should get Trevor from the Trailer Park Boys.
