It's just a bad idea to make fun of others religion!

People who don't want to be ridiculed shouldn't be ridiculous.

Just saying "It's my religion" doesn't make you free from criticism.

Look at how hard hardline Islam tries to do just that.

I don't think hardline Islam should be a model for anybody.

And what are your specific objections to Black Jesus anyway? Does it really make fun of religion?

I wonder if the people who say this show is mocking Christianity have watched it. Jesus in this show is actually pretty close to how he's portrayed in the Bible. Yes, Jesus hung out with lowlives and social dregs and preached to the poor and downtrodden. He wasn't some saintly figure roaming around and only interacting with the holy.

If anything, this is probably the most sincere depiction of Jesus I've seen. Even in religious movies that also take Jesus seriously, he's pretty much always a figure of reverence and awe more than a loving, compassionate figure. Black Jesus takes Jesus seriously and make him lovable and compassionate.

I wonder if the people who say this show is mocking Christianity even know about what you just posted. You'd be surprised at the holier than thou types that haven't even read the word.

If your religious beliefs are so fragile that it cannot withstand people commenting on it in ways you don't like, then perhaps it's time to re-evaluate your religious beliefs.
