I think that he's not supposed to be actually Jesus....

Just a normal everyday guy who loves to pretend to be Jesus. I think one of his friends asked him how long is he planning on going on with the Jesus charade thing.

It's like, cool. It's like, totally rad awesome!

He's performing "miracles" though with super powers. I doubt that makes him normal.

They can explain that away as PCP or crack.

I thought it would be funny if he was just a regular guy pretending to be Jesus. One of his "miracles" was pulling out a bottle of courvoisier, which anyone can do. He made a magical voice message appear on a phone, so I guess he is supposed to be the real deal. Still a funny show though.

Dude performed three miracles in the first episode... he's the real deal!

He is Jesus.

1. He knows everyone's name and things about there past and future.
2. He coverts bottled water to liquor.

reply

Nope. totally Black Jesus. RESPECT!

Who took my toast?

reply

He can't be Black Jesus, he looks nothing like Ned the wino.

this.

before we get started, does anyone want to get out?

I don't know if he is really Jesus or not. Has anyone reacted when he tells them facts that he wouldn't know (like their names, their health, etc). Most people just ignore him which means he could just be making stuff up about people he meets.

The part about turning alcohol into water, and the voice mail are harder to explain.

I think it's interesting because it has multiple point of views. You have the mother who praises Jesus and gives him all the glory. There are his friends who accept him as the son of God and there is Charlie Murphy who is a doubter and always questions and doesn't believe and thinks he's crazy which mirrors the doubt and debate in both Jesus's time and today.

I'm only on episode two of season one but it's something I've noticed.

He's not pretending...
