Will this series give new names to the two Wicked Witches?

Does anyone know if this series will make up new names for the Wicked Witch of the East and Wicked Witch of the West? Or will they remain unnamed?

I guess we won't know until later. However, West is still referred to as such in a press release for the second episode I think. It said something like West and Glinda coming together to mourn the death of East.

What would you like them to be called? I love what Gregory Maguire did with Elphaba and Once Upon a Time with Zelena:)

I'd like to keep Elphaba and Nessarose, and I loved the twist on the purpose of the ruby slippers for Nessarose.

Their names shall be appropriate for this genre-swapping: Mistress Deathilia Genocidia and Empress Slaughteris Von Sadistux.

It appears as though they will be simply named East & West. Of course we could put an "Ms" in front of either. I loved learning Elfaba's name. Go ahead - blaze a crooked trail or just a dog-leg off the main yellow brick road.

The slipppers were "silver" in Bain's books and this series seems to be "reimagining" the books and not the Hollywood which created ruby slippers to stand out more with the new color film.
