I love that they've brought Mombi and Tip into the story!
Plus, the casting of Fiona Shaw was great!! It's funny that Aunt Petunia secretly wanted to be a witch, and now Fiona Shaw has played two - Mombi in Emerald City and Marnie in True Blood!
And it's great that she isn't really dead! They couldn't just introduce a character like Mombi and then kill her off at the beginning.
Well obviously she couldn't be dead, only a witch can kill a witch!
I'm excited too but I hope they don't give away what is happening too soon and blow a really good reveal.

shareI've never read the original books, but I've read Gregory Maguire's series and Danielle Paige's Dorothy Must Die series, which both have Mombi.
I don't know the significance of the dagger, but it must have some kind of magic because they wouldn't show it on camera if it wasn't important. Like you say, it could be similar to the gloves.
