damn those old geezers for having a mental illness!!!

that was the message I got from the movie, that they were two old murdering evil geezers who deserved to die and did.

what a load of *beep* mental illness is NOT something someone chooses to have and they can't help their actions, they need to be treated and medicated, not murdered! if anything, the real people to blame for this whole mess were the staff at the psychiatric hospital they escaped from for having such lax security that they were able to escape!

terrible message, in an otherwise all right movie!!~!

Definition of troll on IMDb - anyone who expresses a view different to mine.

As someone who suffers from a mental and physical illness I i no way find this film offensive. The young lad in this film also has a mental illness which is portrayed very accurately especially when he's such a young actor. Anyone who murders isn't exactly right in the head so there's nothing offensive in giving them a few other quirks too.

ok...it didnt damn them, it was a survival instinct situation. ...through out tge whole movie becca is trying to make her bro understand they are just old and having mental issues. yeah the were scary but they were famiky they wpulnt hurt them. when they realized they wernt thier grandparents that security is tore up and the mental issues maje them realize they are in danger. if they could have ran away they would have. but the way things played out they killed them with self defense and the brother having his own psychological break.

I didn't see anything close to the "message" you got.

I must have missed how they escaped from the mental institution?? Where was that tidbit in the movie??

The grandparents were heavily involved with the institution, so maybe they occasionally had patients over as part of their charitable nature? I realize that sounds stupid, but these were obviously old patients. Maybe they had spent years in there with no sign of hostility, so maybe they helped the real grandparents around the house with chores, or just socialized in general.

I say this because the woman who went over was also a former patient, if I remember correctly. She seemed genuinely shocked that these people were at the house, and this could've been for two reasons:

She realized they were unescorted and wearing the real grandparent's civilian clothes. The impostors coax her into the back after calming her down. I'm assuming it's this reason, because they probably convinced her that the actual grandparents were supervising them and were out back somewhere.

OR

She immediately thought it was odd that they were outside the institution at all.
