One thing I dont like about found footage movies

Is the person behind the camera is always filming, when running away from a villain or something they have to keep the camera recording. I would drop the camera and just run. I know it's a movie but just kind of unrealistic in a situation like that

I might have interpreted it incorrectly but while I was watching it I thought the final movie was a mix of found footage and regular cinematic footage. As you say at times it would not have been possible for the kids to be filming the action.

(I still have issues calling digital capture "footage" but what else could we call it?)

Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes not.

You may think that, but youtube videos prove otherwise.

Yeah, OP would be surprised by the number of people that have actually died while trying to get selfies in dangerous situations. People record everything these days.

You are underestimating the stupidity of people.

Liveleak proves that people do that in real. These days, "most" kids grow up thinking that recording videos and taking selfies is what life is all about.

I was ok with this movie since the camera wasn't too shaky and during the attack near the end, the camera was set on a table. I, however, could not stand quarantine and cloverfield. Like who would be holding a camera while running away from flesh eating cannibals and aliens?

Its starting to get annoying that every single FF movie needs the mandatory explanation scene at the start to give a reason for them filming the rest of the events that we see. I'm not against FF movies, but certain elements like that really detract from the movie.
