LaSalle & this kid....

I'm in no way buying this as a story-line. There is too much that is anti-LaSalle:

- being thrown into this 'family'
- why are they now moved into his place? Does this girl have no other life or place to live? Wasn't she living somewhere else the last two years?
- How has no one gotten a DNA test yet?
- LaSalle didn't tell Percy but then goes and talks to Pride & Gregorio?
- this chick is bonkers.... why is LaSalle not telling her that he can accept the boy as his son, but he can't just join in with her living with him and pretending to be his lady?

This is not sitting well with me. Anyone else?

I have to agree with you on every point. Lasalle took her word for everything way too easy. OK, he has been out of sorts since the love of his life was murdered and also the problems with his brother, but this is too much. At the very least he should have had a basic blood test done to determine paternity. It is out of character for none of his friends on the show to take him aside and have a talk with him as well. Pride would normally have sit down with him to check things out in a little more detail. The entire team has dropped the ball on this one.

I have a feeling that this will lead to some kind of situation for the season ending cliff hanger somehow. Not sure how, but I can't see this lasting out the season without some serious consequences.

First and foremost, no body gets blindsided by some chick who tells him he is the father of her child. This guy is suppose to be a smart cop...OK, why didn't he ask for "proof of purchase" AKA paternity test. If this guys team are so "family" why doesn't anyone step in and ask questions....also, if this was my son, brother or work mate who I was close to I would make sure he doesn't get played without the facts ...I think the writers of this show think we are all morons.

They thinking we are all morons sounds right. The team not saying anything to LaSalle goes against each and every one of there instincts. They are duming down the series.

He didn't tell Grigorio she found out

I'm with you as well jwinhold. Why in the world has LaSalle not asked for a DNA test? I think its just stupid to take Melody's world for it. I've been over here screaming for somebody to tell Chris to get a DNA since he clearly lost his mind. When Sonja found out I thought she may be the one to talk some sense into him, but obviously not.

How do any of you know he hasn't already gotten a DNA test? He seems like he's pretty sure the baby is his. His biggest problem is Melody wanting more from him than being a father to his son. She'd probably withhold him if he told her he doesn't love her and doesn't want a relationship with her.

In the Outlaws episode when LaSalle begins to tell Pride what's going on he says, "I think I maybe a dad...I am a dad...this girl shows up at my place..." Then later on their way to see Sebastian Pride says (26:23), "I gotta ask. Are you sure the baby's yours?" To which LaSalle responds, "He looks like me and the math definitely works."

Based on the Outlaws episode, LaSalle hadn't had a DNA test. He's taking Melody's word for it.

reply

Well, now we know why he didn't get a paternity test. So he could be punched out by the woman-beating father, and come to the rescue (again) by getting the guy locked up

reply

Pride said it.
