Hello IMDB, just watched the movie , and it's great , but i dont know Junsa is Korean or Japanese , can anyone tell me , thanks in advance :)

It isn't Japanese. I just asked my (Japanese) wife, and she thinks it means police investigator or detective.

thanks for replying , but he never speaks Korean in any scenes of the movie even when he talks to Korean army :(

Ok, but I just looked junsa up in a Japanese/English dictionary and got "a police officer."

This clearly doesn't make sense. Try Korean....

My guess is, the OP is asking about Junsa's nationality.

In Japanese, the word Junsa (not as a first name) means police officer.
In Korean, it literally means "a talented man" but is seldom used.

If you're referring to the character in the movie by the name of Junsa, he was a Japanese soldier who surrendered at the Naval Battle of Angolpo in 1592 and was later assigned to work as a spy for the Korean navy. There isn't much historical evidence that he did indeed work as a spy but he did definitely fight alongside Admiral Yi, as in the movie.

If you're asking for the meaning of junsa (jun pronounced as John), it means warrior in Korean.

He was a real man and is mentioned in Admiral Yi's autobiography.
