Do Oliver, Bee, Maher, Maddow, et al. realize that...
...they bear a great deal of responsibility for Clinton's loss? Their relentless, nasty belittling of Trump and his supporters helped turn the tide in Trump's favor. They cast him as even more of an underdog than he already was, as someone who was ridiculous and had no chance of winning. They were bullies of the highest order, not even realizing how their merciless hammering away at Trump and his supporters made them come off as worse than their intended target. Even if those like Maher admitted that Trump would get a decent amount of votes, you know in the back of their minds they were like "nah, not gonna happen".
And trotting out celebrities like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Amy Schumer...really? The Clinton campaign actually believed that this would help? Good lord, how clueless can a political party be?
Bottom line is, Clinton ran a terrible campaign, and the media helped her do it, by making their battle cry "Aw come on, you just CAN'T vote for him, he sucks!" and by ignoring a huge section of their core constituency. The Democrats, their candidate, their celebrity endorsers, and the left-wing media all joined together to try to tell the country that they just HAD to vote for Clinton, because if they didn't they were morons, losers, deplorables, and whatever other nasty epithets they could think of. And roughly half the populace flipped a big "SCREW YOU" in return.
