I've not seen this movie, nor The Room, but everything I hear about it sounds as if it's kinda the same thing as Ed Wood. That is, it's a movie about making bad movie, with several scenes from the source movie re-created. Is this, more or less, the case?
Kind of/sort of. It focuses primarily on the relationship between Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero, with The Room's production acting as somewhat of a backdrop. I found it disappointingly deficient in many of the book's best sequences.
shareYeah, it's a little bit like Ed Wood except it doesn't really focus on one man's passion for filmmaking but rather it's about a guy who wants to feel accepted. He's a bit different from Wood in that his behavior really does seem fascinatingly alien at times. If you plan on seeing this you should check out The Room first. You'll see what I mean.
