I really hope this isn't advertised as a comedy


Because it really isn't. I mean, there are a lot of funny parts in the book, but the tone is ultimately serious. Especially the parts involving Tommy's background (if they decide to have those be part of the movie).

I'm thinking it'll probably be advertised as a quirky indie dramedy. Franco's described it as being similar to Boogie Nights, which was a black comedy epic.
