Season 2 better than Season 1
Things got pretty serious.
shareYes, the show was so lighthearted and comical in Season 1.
shareCompletely agree! It's to say that, that i came to IMDb in the first place. Here's what i've said about both seasons in another thread:
I've watched the first season last year and was incredibly annoyed and bored pretty much the whole time except for the last 2 episodes that picked up in pace; i eventually settled for a 5.
But for some reason the show stayed with me, i found it to have a wasted potential, but a potential nonetheless and my curiosity was picked when i saw the second season was out and decided to watch it. Boy is this season much better than the previous one! Grit, complexity, tension, richer plot, twists, powerful altercations, compelling dialog, this season has it all. Almost every single scene is useful and furthers the plot in some way, not like the first season and its endless rambling and succession of tiresome tirades about past and present family melodrama. Second season really picked up the pace and the whole undertone of the show noticeably drifted from the drama realm into the thriller realm. It's not about a family tragedy anymore, but about a familial criminal enterprise trying to cover up its crimes. And it's for the better if you ask me. This season is just top notch.
That being said, i have to say in hindsight that season 2 wouldn't have been that good if they hadn't taken the time of setting the scene, thoroughly presenting the characters and creating a believable universe during whole season 1. Now that i have seen the second one, everything makes more sense and i see the first one in a more positive light, which wouldn't have been the case if season 2 had greatly disappointed.
My advice is, give second season a try, it is really worth it, much more intense than season 1. Now the show gets an 8 from me instead of a 5. I even recommend it to friends.
People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs
I agree. Season 1 took some time to get going but season 2 put the pedal to the metal and didn't let up.
shareI enjoyed both.
