Sorry, I have to disagree. She may seem 'dumb and stupid' and 'naive' but I prefer the word innocent. To Janey, Danny was her uncle, a family. Danny treated her well and she liked hanging out with Danny, so it's natural for her defending Danny. It's difficult for her innocent mind to understand why everyone treating Danny like sh!t especially after she learned how unfairly Danny was treated by Robert and Kevin.

John just couldn't offer any explanation to help Janey understand the absurd family dynamic because he couldn't come up with a story without making himself sounded less than a bad guy Danny was, so of course Janey wouldn't listen, why should she?

I haven't finished S2 yet but actually liked Diana.
Janey is spoiled and selfish. She should have had her dad's back over her uncles, it's not like John mistreated her in any way and Danny had hardly been in her life consistently enough for her to side with him. I would have liked them to write her character so it was a bit more balanced, she's been a cliche of self absorbed teen so far.

Loved how Janey was going through her father's drawers & closets. What parent would allow that?

Yes - she's written that way because its so frustrating to watch, because the Janey character is so easily manipulated by Danny.
On the other hand, the family has an annoying habit of never telling the whole story. John could have explained the necklace to her. He could have said "Your uncle told me that our sister was "dead as soon as she put that necklace on' ", so Janey the necklace represented death for Danny -- do you get it now?

But as always, he can't say anything because he doesn't want dumb dumb blabbing his motive for murder all over town...

I was hoping SOMEONE would call out this bratty petulant character for what she IS! Season 2/episode 6, WHY the hell her 'parents' put up with a mouthy 15 y/o callin out the grandmother at HER house, is beyond me! Right,wrong or otherwise, should've slapped the snotty mouth outta her before the grandmother had to..NOT this brat's place to call ANYbody out on their ADULT sheeet...but hey, Ima oldschool beeetch...

Agreed. I didn't have a problem with how her character was written as much as how it was acted. I put her up there with Walter White, Jr. when it comes to having a "fingernails on a chalkboard" annoying delivery.
