3 interracial couples. Must be the same show. Nowhere near compelling as the first. Only good thing was Lewis and she's not enough. We're out. Another unneeded second season of a show that should have been a limited series. Won't be surprised if the ratings suck.
Eric's sister was with a black guy. Eric and his brother have white wives. Who's the third interracial couple you're referring to? And I like seeing interracial couples because I know it pisses off racists.
I actually quite enjoyed this episode and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.
So, basically you're saying the show is going to suck because it has interracial couples in it? Get over it----that's real life for a lot of people in today's society (like within my family, for instance.) I mean, this is the 21st century----interracial couples have been the norm in the country in our country for a good couple of centuries now, regardless of how many laws made being an interracial couple illegal in the past. Also, I don't know how you can claim a show will suck if you're only seen one episode--that's silly, lol.
The show doesn't suck at all because of the interracial couples. Notice my post never alludes to that. But it's quite ridiculous. And while the show may get better, it was damn awful tonight. Boring secrets. He killed someone and she had a baby before and didn't tell him. Boring. I don't see this getting any better. Enjoy.
For the poster above; their father or stepfather is white. We can all assume the mother is black. Yes interracial couples exist but all in the same family?? Only the Kardashians.
Activista: And incidentally I'm looking forward to that movie where the real life interracial couple were jailed and will be cheering for the couple to win in court. Especially since I don't know the outcome.
Yes larosat/donald trump supporter, some families do have more than one interracial couple in a family. I guess we don't have to worry about you watching the show.
I've actually seen a few of those cases. Where the daughters were dating black guys. Or my friend whose white is married to a black woman and his brother is also dating a black women.
We don't know yet if the 'interracial couples' are even going to be a plot point. Or what the point could be, if any.
We don't even know if Terry O'Quinn is their father, stepfather, or foster father. They call him Dad but everything hasn't been established.
So far I love it and can't wait for more. Strictly business Detective Cornell walking out of the crowd of tuxedoed men and gowned women, in her work clothes, her knowing already that the husband had to be on the roof, this is going to be fun.
Dana: No I don't think the race of the couples is going to be a factor at all. ABC just threw it in there to meet today's quota. Maybe it will get better but it's just not that compelling and we have way too many shows on Sunday. The first season wasn't all that great and this is worse but anyway enjoy.
You obviously lead a colourless life. Families like this are common place, it'd be more odd if ABC had another lily-white family with only one token black family seeing as this season is in a big city and not in last season's small town.
Get out of your cave, go to any big city and look at the couples. You'll see interracial dating is quite common.
The (absent) mother is obviously black as their dad is white so all the kids are biracial so does it really matter if the black-looking kids are with white women or black women as they are half and half already? Now if they were with Asians, Latinos or Natives THAT WOULD BE DIVERSITY
Sounds like the Kardshians. Expect the Dad to get a sex change midseason. And there's always a chance that the mother is White and the siblings were adopted.
You miss the real "cutting edge" factor here - non-white people who are actually RICH and living the good American life.
There really are over 30,000 Black millionaires in the USA - more than ANY other country in the world.
I am sure the producers all struggled with this aspect and will undoubtedly include SOME overt "white privilege/racism" at some point in this series. Too bad, actually.
For all it's cheese factor "Hart of Dixie" and it's interracial relationships is much more like most of the real USA nowadays.
