Can I continue with U.S version of season 2 if..

I watched the Australian version of season 1, will I be able to pick up where that left off with (U.S)season 2? Hulu doesn't have (U.S)season 1.

Other than a few mentions of the wrong guy going to jail in season one, there's absolutely no connection between season 2 and season 1. You'll be fine watching just season 2.
