I hate the detective side story

Ugh..I hate it. I liked that he was an undercover cop..that was a cool twist, but now it's pointless. I literally don't give two craps if he finds his daughter. The only way I'd change my mind is if it turned out his daughter was the killer. That would be another good twist, but since I've read the spoilers I know that's not true, so why even have that story line? There's waaaay too much drama already this season, they don't need another useless storyline unless it had to do with Kate's death somehow. I find his character completely unlikeable as well.

On a positive side, I like seeing Brendan Hines on TV again. I loved him on Lie To Me. I really like his character on this show too. I like that he has Cornell's back, she needs a friend. Her having a partner is a nice addition. I like Cornell and I like that we're getting to see more of her personal life. No one is shut off like her without reason. I don't mind her side stories because she's the only constant character so far, so i like finding out how she ticks. The detective story line has no purpose. I highly doubt he'd be back next season, if there was one.

I kind of liked it. It wasn't too much but just enough. Plus I like Kenny and watched him on Bates Motel

Haha...I hated him on BM ( not him, just the character) so maybe that's part of why I wasn't into it. He's a good actor no doubt, but he always looks like a creep to me lol.

In all seriousness though, I wouldn't have minded it if it at least had something to do with the case. I was hoping it was going to be Rachel that killed Kate. That would have been an emotional, and I think for the most part, shocking twist and it would have tied both cases together. There was enough melodrama with just the Warners, I feel like it didn't add anything to the story. I always felt like fast forwarding those scenes. The series is only 10 episodes, I don't think it needs filler storylines.

That being said, I really liked how the storyline did wrap up. I actually got a little teary-eyed. All in all though, I'd rather the show stick to just the one main case.

I disliked that character as well. Yes this storyline was pointless, but i think he was put there for Cornell and Eric to play off against. Cornell and Eric sometimes had no one else to talk to, so they put that detective there to fill in the gaps.
