Confession?

No matter how much you dig, you'll never find anything that'll prove I killed my wife.

Say whaaaat?! Sounded like a combo confession/challenge to me.

reply

I felt the same way when he said that. A normal, innocent person would never, "...I killed my wife."

reply

I think it was purposeful dialogue to keep us unsure, I can imagine him adding 'because I didn't do it'. I've noticed some other lines that didn't fit to me, to instigate a certain reaction I suppose.

reply

Yep, purposeful dialogue of the heavy-handed kind.

Eric sees the guy who met his now deceased wife at the motel. He gets out his car and angrily approaches the guy's shop. As he reaches for the door, he recalls a murderous result of his violent temper: The fatal single punch to his teammate. But he also recalls the crime scene simulation of his wife hitting the ground and then he sees himself cradling her bloody corpse.

Why in a fit of anger did he recall the latter if he's not responsible for it?

reply

I think he just stopped himself before he did anything stupid is all

reply

I get that. Like pushing his wife? Or maybe even accidentally like grabbing at her and she pulled away, tripped and went over?

reply

So has it been established she was having an affair, It doesn't make sense to me.

reply

No affair. Not yet. But she's responsible for the company's current financial troubles, loss of clients, and imminent demise

"He lied about the lies that he lied about"!

Testing

reply

Ironic this is what ultimately caught the killer. Another confession/challenge in the heat of the moment.
