I actually thought, at the time, it was a corollary to Walter and Paige's journey. What made it interesting was that Sylvester, a man with known psychological problems--his germaphobia and OCD tendencies--found love and brief happiness with another person, and another person who was not a genius, at that. I thought it rather underscored the depth of Walter's social dis-ease and inability to relate to, communicate with, and empathize with the rest of the world.
We're seeing the backlash of that with the whole Tim and Paige scenario. Walter can absolutely act like a dick, but he is probably the least adapted of all the Scorpion team. Not that that gives him a free pass to be a jerk, but....sometimes he *seems* normal, but he is so many more steps away from normal than he seems.
I *think*. I'm not sure of anything anymore. They keep changing the game. Was that a goal or a home run? What are we playing again????

No, David. No one is happy in a poodle skirt and a sweater set.
