Can anyone just enjoy the show!

Yes it has far fectched science. Yes some of the things are impossable But ITS A SHOW.. Why can't anyone just enjoy a show these days. In the 80s A-TEAM, No one died, no matter how much gun fired or exploses where used. I mean .. COME ON.. can you all just enjoy a show ON TV for what it is supposed to be. Enternainment.. Im starting to think that IMDB threads are just for people that have nothing else to do but to try to destroy shows that are just here for our enjoyment. Thats why they call it FICTION.. Come on people, just enjoy. And yes , they will be flaws....

I completely agree. I love this show and don't feel the need to have a stack of science books nearby so that I can fact-check what the team is doing. I just enjoy the show for the incredibly good fun it is. Why do the complainers even bother to watch a fictional TV show in the first place? If they're so interested in real science, there are plenty of documentaries they could watch.

It's not just "Scorpion" where this phenomenon occurs. I've seen the same type of negative comments on every board I've been on. I'll never understand why these people, who claim to hate every single thing about a particular TV show, waste their time watching every single episode and know every single detail. I've tried plenty of shows but found that they didn't interest me so guess what? I've stopped watching them. It's not rocket science... or even "fake Scorpion science".

Those people just like to think that they're smarter/hipper/more intellectual than those of us who enjoy this and other shows and they feel the need to hurl insults at us for actually liking the shows. But I'm more inclined to question the intelligence of those posters who continue to watch things they say are horrible and are only watched by complete morons. Obviously they really do like the shows they're complaining about but they wouldn't have as much fun coming onto these boards and agreeing with the rest of us so they have to find a way to give their lives some meaning and strangely enough, ragging about TV shows and movies is what does it for them. Makes no sense to me.

Most of us do just enjoy the entertainment and the characters. Really it is just a small handful of knuckleheads who come to this board to complain about some minor thing, usually about "plausibility."

You want "plausibility"? Stick to NOVA on the PBS network.

I find the show enjoyable for what it is.

People that don't enjoy theoretical discussions are more likely to use words like "knuckleheads". Other people enjoy discussing facts and if that implies someone is a knucklehead then that is a matter of perception.

In other words, it makes sense to me that someone that does not enjoy the other relevant discussions feels a need to call people "knuckleheads".

My wife & I enjoy Scorpion. Yes the first one was a little far fetched, why couldn't they have uploaded the software to a commercial jet that was on the ground? But we discuss it and if it's possible or not, but we enjoy he show. As Johnny Depp said in Ed Wood, "Haven't you heard of the suspension of disbelief"?

reply

Simple answer to that, they needed a plane that hadn't landed to get an uncorrupted version of the update. Any planes on the ground would have the bad update on it.

Personally I love this show, not a big science guy so don't know how real anything is but I don't care. Still fun to watch.

I love the show. Reality is for my life away from TV. TV is for fantasy land. If I want reality, I'll turn on Netflix and watch some documentaries.

In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice.

Thank you. That is what i was going for.
Just to enjoy what they bring to us..Enjoyment and entertainment.

You're points are all valid. I enjoy the show best, however, when the soap opera elements do _not_ overshadow the main plot line of the episode. As they so undeniably and unfortunately did during last year's narco-drone story. I boycotted the whole second half of that episode when it first aired! And I was barely able to stand watching the last 20 minutes of the rerun (to see if my cynical predictions as to how it ended had proven accurate...which they did).

Now, of all the emo asides that Walter received during this two-hour season premiere. the most valid one came from Cabe. And the good sense he spouted made me dearly wish he could've been the one to take Walter aside, _first_!

Well, at least Walter learned one lesson more important than all the others. And that is to NEVER, EVER AGAIN TAKE TOBY'S ADVICE ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS!! Because Cabe has twice as much maturity as Toby; emotionally _and_ chronologically.

And for those that can see the flaws, it is fun to discuss them.

reply

I enjoy the show. My teenage son and I watch it. We laugh a lot. It is far fetched, but who cares, it is an hour of fun and we don't have to be bombarded with sex/religion/ etc.

reply

I do enjoy the show, but why can't the writers include "real" science instead of just making it up as they go along. Real science can be just as fascinating as anything they make up, many times even more so.

They are doing the audience a disservice by promulgating fake science and it just makes the characters (who are supposed to be geniuses) seem idiotic.

Remember MacGyver? Everything he did was based on true science and it was wonderful to watch.

reply

Yes, everyone would enjoy the show even more if it had true super-intelligence in it.

reply

I love it. It's "The A-Team" meets "Big Bang Theory" and then some.

reply

Since you don't enjoy the commentary discussing the flaws, don't torture yourself with them.

reply

Agreed. It's cheesy, far fetched and over the top but I love it. I love seeing how all the characters interact and I've always been a sucker for this kind of thing. Used to love the A Team and stuff like that too.

It's like they are human superheroes!
