Season 4 and 5? Please don't cancel!

I'm just wondering what the chances of a season 4 and beyond are for Scorpion? I would hate for it to just end/be cancelled. I'm in love with this show. I know the viewing numbers are slightly down. Also what are the chances of it being moved back to 9pm because I know that will encourage more people to watch.
Cheers!

Hopefully it will get two more seasons.

It's not going anywhere. It's far more popular than some of the other shows CBS keeps around. They're also ramping up their All Access Streaming Service and they're going to want to pack as much content on there as possible, so you're going to start seeing a lot of new shows which probably would have been canceled stick around, or even make the move off broadcast to direct streaming.

I think season 4 is likely, because I think that's the threshold for syndication. Selling syndication rights becomes found money for the network. Shows that are on the bubble often get renewed if the next season/another season means syndication .

The ratings are really down and keep declining. Are you guys sure they wouldn't cancel it? Do you really think it won't make it for a season 4?

reply

If, and this is a big if, season four is the difference between syndication and no syndication, I could see them renewing for season 4 so they could get syndication money, but not renewing it for season 5.

Hope you guys are right!

Shows are not cancelled very often at the three-season mark because of the syndication dollars they'd be leaving on the table.

Although in fairness, TNT and USA Network seem to be trying a lot more of their own original programming so the slots available for syndication are not as plentiful as they used to be. There are plenty of shows that would do well in syndication (and have the volume) but just aren't.

CBS' streaming service is probably where a few bucks will be made.

What if they really go down?

Rooting for cancellation.
Actually, I've got idea for an ending.

Walter builds another rocket. Tim impregnates him, and he launches off world to start
colony of "geniuses". Maybe on Venus. I hear weather is nice there. I'm sure he could make a biodome with a duct tape and *beep* (they had plenty of it in the show, so dome could be like reaaaallly big.)
