I think you posted to the wrong discussion, there is nothing here about playing in the snow or getting a tongue stuck on a freezing piece of metal.

I don't remember enough of the episode to provide a more relevant response but the writers certainly do stupid things. This show indicates to me that the real Walter O'Brien is as intelligent as a typical comic book writer.
