Is the science anywhere realistic?

In some other shows with a lot of random science words it usually don't make any sense.

In a show like Big bang theory and Silicon Valley they hired actual scientists / area experts to help the calculations seem more real so is it the same case here?

Technically "if you don't know it does not matter" is a thing but i would still like to know.

I do not know for certain but I believe the science holds merit and is realistic. However, what is unrealistic is the timeline to pull off or complete the science and the materials being used. I understand that is where the suspending the disbelief comes into play.

As realistic as the stuff Acme Co sends to Wyle E. Coyote in Warner Bros. cartoons.

Based on what other people have said, the science is about as accurate as MacGyver and The A Team. I'm not bothered by it. I accept that it's TV and just roll with it. I also do not have much a background in science (I didn't take chemestry or physics in high school,) so this is totally based on what I've read on this board.
