Throwing, not spinning....
Is how Thor flew. He didn't spin the hammer and take off like a helicopter. He threw it and grabbed the loop, and the hammer pulled him along. Yes, if he was already in the air, he could spin to hover, but any momentum came from throwing. Even if already in the air. Thor would spin the hammer before throwing it to put more energy into the throw. The hammer is not a rotor/propeller.
Do these writers even do the most minimal of research? This line is almost as bad as Toby's organic webbing....
