why not a new hulk movie??

Every other Avenger who got their own movie prior to the first avengers movie has a trilogy of films except the banner/hulk.. There are plenty of stories to tell, and they leace so much up in the air..like whatever happened to Betty and Doc Samson? What happened to Abomination? What about Sterns becoming the leader?? Both Ambimination and Leader could be great villains for Hulk and the others in Infinity War. What does everyone think??

Marvel Studios/Disney don't have his solo rights. They would have to involve Universal and it can get complicating.

They can only use Hulk in team ups which I don't mind. General Ross didn't even mention Betty in his Civil War appearance I don't think they care to bring her up. Maybe they they think they will have to cast a Betty eventually if they talk about her. Banner didn't even ask how she was in Avengers 1.

Why is teaming with Universal so difficult all of a sudden?

reply

Marvel has had issues teaming with Universal, Sony, Fox.

Also, the Hulk is overpowered to really work out IMO.

The first Hulk film portrayed him as a monstrous alternate persona birthed from a science experiment, which was accurate enough but was not really heroic enough to work out. I enjoyed it, but it went over a lot of people's heads.

The second Hulk film portrayed him as a fugitive super-weapon on the run, an adaptation of the famous Bixby show; decent but not really too original. (IMO, the Hulk should have just beat the Abomination into pulp and not taken all that time in the final battle)

The latest incarnation walks the razor's edge between being a monster and being a heroic character. It does okay, but it doesn't allow the Hulk to go full out. Hopefully, in Ragnarok this should change and the Hulk will get some real opponents to be fully unleashed on.

It would involve giving Universal a cut of the profits, and all Universal has to do is distribute. They have no obligation toward the production, but they would still get paid. Disney's not going to just give Universal a free payday.

Because the last two didn't make money and while there are stories to tell, it seems they either don't have the energy or the patience for a solo Hulk film in the near future. There's been a report they have plans for movies up to the 2020s so we'll see what happens.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

It could be a rights issue. I just don't think there's the popularity behind him that your see with the others. He seems to do better in ensemble pieces. I didn't care that much for the previous two actors. I like Mark Ruffalo. I still don't know if I'd want to see him in a movie alone.

I like him too but Norton was the best for the character IMO. He just embodied Banner so well, and they left so many things open-ended like the fate of Abomination and the Sterns Cliffhanger becoming the leader, it just sucks that they aren't doing anything else with a story that has so much potential to be a great Hulk sequel.
