Rank the comic book movies of 2016

Keep in mind this is all in my opinion, so I don't have to keep writing that.

This was very hard for me, but I think it goes like this:

Captain America: Civil War - One of the best MCU movies yet. Funny, dramatic, intense and suspenseful. It does a spectacular job at juggling what could easily have been way too many characters.

Deadpool - So much fun. Such an entertaining and quotable movie. It was great seeing my favorite X-Man, Colossus, finally done justice in a movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows - As a lifelong TMNT fan who grew up watching the original cartoon this movie was like a childhood dream come true. An improvement in every way over its predecessor (which I was surprised to find I liked too, even though I'd still say that one's my least favorite TMNT movie) and out of all the TMNT movies I think this is the one that does the best job of showing the personalities of all the four turtles.

X-Men: Apocalypse - Underrated. Fun. Epic. Bryan Singer's worst X-Men movie is still a very good movie.

Suicide Squad - While it did not live up to my expectations, I still find it entertaining. The "less is more" use of Batman, the Joker and the Flash feels good for the sake of mythology building. Lots of great acting, including a surprisingly good performance from Jai Courtney.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - I really wanted to like this movie, but it's just so dull and lifeless. When it finally starts feeling comic booky, it's too little too late. I can't make up my mind about which Batman movie is my least favorite, this one or The Dark Knight Rises. I like everything about this Batman though. Affleck's performance, the suit, the car and Jeremy Irons as Alfred are all things I want to see more of in hopefully better movies.

Doctor Strange - I found this movie to be a bland addition to the MCU. I don't like it when Marvel (or DC for that matter) does magic. I love magic in Harry Potter, I just prefer not having it when it comes to superheroes. Doctor Strange feels a little to similar to Tony Stark to be interesting and while Mads Mikkelsen manages to get a little charm across I'm afraid Kaecilius still joins the MCU's streak of mostly forgettable villains.

1. X-Men: Apocalypse - Not a great movie, but I still liked it. Interesting characters and plotlines. I would rewatch it. I really liked this film because I felt like they tried to make the film good develop good characters and create interesting stories, instead of just adding on cool scenes for money.

2. Doctor Strange - I was really excited for this movie, but after seeing it I've officially given up on the MCU. It made me realize how much I hate most of the modern films out now. The main problem is that there is more focus on having cool scenes for money instead of creating a good story. They literally just cut to scenes and go from scene to scene with no development or anything. They don't go into detail or develop anything at all, it's just showing us cool scenes and that's it. It's hard to explain but the main issue is that movies like this need to SLOW DOWN and develop characters and story more. The final fight was pathetic. When he was fighting Dormammu and beat him with the time loop thing I just though "that's it?". Really? A 3 minute boring non-developed sequence? There isn't even a fight. I never even felt that Strange developed in any way or got more powerful or anything. They didn't show or explain the dark dimension as much as they could have. There was so much potential but it was wasted to make the film faster.

3. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - You've heard all the hate for this already. This movie is pretty terrible- it's boring, messy, terrible editing, bad acting, everything is bad. I kinda liked the last 30 minutes, but they were still bad. I still prefer this to Civil War just because the soundtrack is great while Civil War had "generic action soundtrack". Also, this movie just feels more epic and more interesting while Civil War felt bland to me.

4. Captain America: Civil War - Maybe it's because I don't really follow the MCU, but I hated this movie. It was choppy, had terrible pacing, characters were all bland, plot was messy, everything was all over the place, etc. Everything just felt so repeated and overdone and boring. I guess the airport fight was good but it was obvious it was just done for money and not for good story. The jokes got way too annoying.
