Thor needs to be more regal

Thor needs to be portrayed with more nobleness and more... regal-ness (if there's such a word).

Look at how Black Panther was portrayed in Civil War. Very regal, with everyone referring to him as "Your highness" and everyone being extremely respectful of him even when he's taken into custody.

But T'Challa is only the prince (now king) of Wakanda. A small country in a remote location on Earth. Thor is the prince of Asgard. Prince of an entire world. Protector of the nine realms. Yet he's never treated with any kind of respect on Earth, at least none that he hasn't earned by being a powerful warrior.

Loki at least acts like royalty, even if he's arrogant about it. I believe Thor can be made to be compassionate yet still look royal at the same time.

I see your point but I think that's a part of where his initial arrogance came from and I don't think he wants to relapse back into that mindset. Or it's just sloppy screenwriting.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

It seems part of Thor's likeability is his friendly nature, unlike Loki. In the first Avengers, he asked Loki "You think yourself above them, you miss the point of ruling brother." (or something like that) So after learning some humility in the first Thor movie, he tries to help those on Earth without being above them.

Also the lack of respect from those on Midgard probably has more to do with their arrogance towards the leader of an 'alien' race. Than to do with his appearing regal.

It's perfectly possible to look regal without being arrogant. T'Challa pulled it off.

I agree. Treat him more like a King
