I like the stripped-down feel. It's a good fit for a Planet-Hulk-style gladiatorial arena overseen by the Grandmaster.

Not liking it. The MCU managed to stay mostly true to the comics and didn't force everyone into darker costumes. Thor is taking a step backward, looks awful.
Some of the design and casting choices for this have given me doubts about this film.
It definitely looks more like a Hercules costume than a traditional Thor garb, but I'm OK with the idea that he doesn't always have to wear a direct variation on the comics armor when he appears.
As for the darker look, we'll see how it plays, but it was undoubtedly designed with the look of the whole film in mind, and possibly with his mindset for this story.

I don't see what was wrong the sleeveless variation seen in the Avengers, or the version used in Thor Dark World. Which already muted the colours of his look.
Hopefully he'll at least return to his usual look part way into the film. This looks too generic for me.
Looks the same to me.
