The thing is, and I discuss this with my son as we watch video clips on FailArmy, has there always been this much stupidity in the world and in the past it simply wasn't documented, or is the ability to document events making it more likely that they will happen by an ever expanding pool (shallow, genetic) of participants?

As I read this article, my basic thoughts are "what's right with this picture." They seem to be aware of everything that is going on around the kids, but no one it seems has ever had any discussions with tem about ramifications from misuse. When my son got his fancy galaxy phone, we had a serious talk about how in the wrong hands and under the wrong circumstances, it could be every bit as dangerous as the m-16 he is holding in the avatar (selector on Fun). He is responsible for what happens, and the possibility of it and everything else remotely fun being removed from his life is very real.
