Just binge watched the season and...

Incredibly well acted quite compelling but the entire season I waited for any parent to hold their kids accountable or responsible for the actions and none did. I don't know if that was intentional the storytellers but it is emblematic of the entitled young people, everyone's there to clean up their *beep* Fact is this alleged crime started with a party where alcohol drugs and underage girls were supplied. Sure harmless teenage fun, I get it. But it resulted in an alleged crime with major fall out and nobody was ever held accountable.

I guess that is very much the point of the show! Isn't it?

The mishandling and almost child abuse with how the parents deal with their children. None of the parents even took the phones away from their children after they shared those pictures (which might have been child pornography in real life).

I guess part of it is the punitive nature of US society. Something goes wrong, it doesn't get fixed but someone gets blamed and punished. That environment isn't good for actually learning from your mistakes.

Both Eric and Taylor should have gotten counselling to get to the bottom of what happened without that hanging over their heads (sex offender for life, name associated with rape on the internet, the black principal being fired for doing his job).

In the end a lot of pain was spread around and no one came out unscathed. So in a way they all were held accountable.
